Description This course discusses the fundamentals required to perform a comprehensive assessment of the neurologic system, including the organs and structures that make up the neurologic system, questions to ask during a patient history of the neurologic system, and physical examination techniques. Continuing Education Credit This course qualifies for 1.2 contact hours, which can be earned on this course until December 3, 2016. Course objectives After completing this course, the learner will be able to: describe characteristics of the organs and structures of the neurologic system. summarize the differences between the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, and autonomic nervous system. define methods to obtain a patient history of neurologic function. list the steps for performing a detailed neurologic examination. describe the techniques used to assess the cranial nerves.
